Legal
Terms of service.
Effective September 20, 2026
These terms apply to this website, to service requests sent through it, and to the JayJe account portal. The work itself is governed by the written services agreement signed before that work begins. Where the two differ, the signed agreement controls for that project.
Who you are contracting with
JayJe provides handyman, trade and construction services to homes in West Michigan. Correspondence and legal notices go to:
Ada, MI 49301
United States
In these terms, "JayJe", "we" and "us" mean that business. "You" means the person using this website or receiving services.
A service request is not a contract
Sending the request form starts a conversation. It does not book an appointment, reserve a date, commit JayJe to perform work, or commit you to buy anything. We review what you describe and contact you to discuss scope and scheduling.
Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance. Service descriptions, images and page copy describe the kind of work we take on, not the scope or price of your project.
Estimates, quotes and prices
- Estimate
- An early figure given in conversation or in a message so you can decide whether to keep going. It is an opinion of likely cost, it is not binding, and it can move once the work is examined.
- Quote
- A written, itemized document issued through your account with a reference number, line items, quantities, unit prices, tax and a date it stays open through. A quote is binding on JayJe for its stated scope until that date passes, it is withdrawn, or it is replaced.
- Invoice
- A written demand for payment for work performed or for a deposit agreed in advance, issued through your account with the same itemization.
Prices are in United States dollars. A quote covers only the line items printed on it. Work that is not on those line items is not included in the price, however closely it relates to the job.
Accepting a quote in your account records your agreement to its scope and price. It does not by itself replace the signed services agreement for projects that call for one.
Your JayJe account
The account portal holds your project conversations, quotes, invoices, payment records and referral information. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what is done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it.
Use the portal for your own projects. Do not attempt to reach another customer's records, probe the service for weaknesses, or send content through Messages that is unlawful or that you have no right to send. We may suspend an account being used this way.
Messages in the portal are part of the project record and are retained with it. Sign-in uses the shared SendForge account system, described in the privacy notice.
Payment
Invoices are payable by the date printed on them. Card payments are taken on Stripe's hosted checkout; JayJe does not receive or store your card number. A payment is treated as made when Stripe confirms it, at which point the invoice is marked paid and a receipt appears in your account.
- A deposit, where one is agreed, is applied against the price and is not an extra charge.
- Work performed but not yet invoiced remains payable.
- An amount still unpaid thirty days after its due date may carry interest at 1% per month, or the highest rate Michigan law permits for the arrangement, whichever is lower.
- If payment is not made, JayJe may suspend work on notice to you, and may recover the costs of collection to the extent Michigan law allows.
- Refunds, where due, are issued to the card used for the payment.
Raise a disagreement about an invoice with us in writing before the due date. We would rather correct a document than argue about one; an issued document is corrected by voiding it and replacing it, so the record stays intact.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
Dates are planned around weather, inspections, material lead times and the projects already under way. We tell you when a date moves.
- Give us safe access to the work area at the agreed times, along with electricity and water where the work needs them.
- Tell us before we arrive about pets, alarm systems, septic fields, private wells, buried utilities, or anything else on the property that affects how we work.
- If we arrive at an agreed time and cannot get access, we may charge for the trip at our posted visit rate.
- To move or cancel a scheduled visit without charge, tell us at least two business days beforehand. Later than that, we may charge for materials already bought for you and for time that could not be filled.
- Specially ordered or made-to-measure materials are charged in full once they are ordered.
Your right to cancel a home sale
If you sign an agreement with us at your home rather than at our place of business, Michigan's Home Solicitation Sales Act gives you three business days to cancel it without cost or penalty. The written notice of that right, and the form used to exercise it, are delivered with the agreement. This right is in addition to anything in these terms, and nothing here reduces it.
Referrals
A JayJe client may invite someone they know. The invited person's first JayJe invoice takes 5% off its handyman line items, and the same amount is credited to the client who referred them once that invoice is paid.
- The discount applies to handyman line items only, and it reduces the amount tax is calculated on.
- One referral discount applies per referred household, on their first document.
- Credit has no cash value, is not transferable, and is applied to a later JayJe document by us at your request.
- Voiding a document returns any credit it was holding.
- Invite people you know. Sending unsolicited invitations in bulk ends participation in the program.
- We may change the rate or withdraw the program. A discount or credit already earned is honoured.
How we contact you
Submitting the request form asks us to contact you about that request, by the method you chose. We use email, phone and the portal to discuss projects, send documents and arrange visits. The request form does not add you to a marketing list. Ask us at any time to stop contacting you, and we will, subject to finishing anything already under way.
This website
The text, images, layout and code of this website belong to JayJe or its licensors. You may read, print and share pages for your own use in considering or managing work with us. Do not copy the site to republish it, scrape it, or present its content as your own.
We keep the site up as best we can but do not promise it will be available without interruption. Links to other websites are for convenience; we do not control them and are not answerable for what they contain.
Warranty and what we do not promise
Workmanship warranties are set out in the services agreement for the project. Manufacturer warranties on equipment and materials pass to you and are honoured by the manufacturer on its own terms.
Apart from the warranties written into the services agreement and those Michigan law does not permit us to exclude, this website and its content are provided as they stand, without further warranty. We do not promise that the site is free of errors or that information on it fits your particular circumstances.
Limits on liability
Michigan law does not allow anyone to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by their own negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here attempts to.
Beyond that, JayJe is not answerable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of income, or for loss of use, arising out of this website or the services. For any claim connected with a project, our total liability is limited to the price paid for the work that gave rise to the claim. For any claim connected with this website alone, it is limited to one hundred dollars.
These limits do not apply to our warranty obligations under a signed services agreement, and they do not reduce rights you have under the Michigan Consumer Protection Act.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Claims are brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Kent County, Michigan, and both of us consent to that venue.
Before filing anything, tell us what is wrong in writing and give us thirty days to put it right. Most disagreements end there. You keep the right to bring a claim in small claims court.
Changes, severability and contact
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one published when your quote was issued. Changes take effect for new requests when they are published here, and the effective date at the top of this page moves.
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it.
Questions about these terms go through the request form or to the address above.
